StackCommerce Announces Agreement to Acquire Joyus(October 02, 2017)
Venice, California (PRWEB) October 02, 2017
StackCommerce, the leading native commerce platform for media companies, has announced its acquisition of Joyus, the first premium online video product discovery and shopping experience for women. The acquisition accelerates StackCommerce's mission to be the commerce platform of choice for publishers and brands across any vertical.
Founded in 2011, San Francisco-based Joyus created the first video-based shopping network serving consumers, publishers and brands across the fashion, beauty, home and health verticals. With over 500 brands featured on its platform, a reach of over 100m monthly users, and its patented shoppable video technology, Joyus created a premium video monetization platform. In 2016, Joyus drove approximately $0.80 per video view across its network with 65% of video views coming via mobile, multiple times the performance of traditional pre-roll video advertising. The acquisition of Joyus enables StackCommerce to immediately deliver curated and content rich shopping experiences tailored specifically to women.
“Adding Joyus' video commerce tech to our platform is a massive step toward realizing our goal of integrating relevant commerce into every type of content across all audience verticals," said Josh Payne, Founder and CEO of StackCommerce. We're thrilled about expanding our native commerce offering to content publishers in the areas of home, cooking, beauty, and fashion.“
StackCommerce's full-service commerce solution includes editorial content creation, data-driven product curation, and fully white-labeled shops that drive purchases within the publisher's ecosystem rather than via third-party affiliate sites. Joyus' proprietary shoppable video technology will enable StackCommerce to rapidly expand its existing commerce-focused video syndication capabilities as a monetization tool for partners.
“StackCommerce and Joyus have essentially shared the same vision from the beginning: that the best commerce experience lives hand-in-hand with quality content, whether it be via editorial or video," noted Joyus Founder Sukhinder Singh Cassidy. “We're proud of what we built and look forward to watching it continue to flourish within the StackCommerce ecosystem."
The acquisition comes on the heels of StackCommerce's record-breaking first half of 2017, with the company adding over 50 new publisher partners, including IAC, CBS Interactive, Gannett, and Mashable, and increases the company's total membership base to more than 5.5 million members.
