In this final tutorial we will cover some of the more advanced features within PostworkShop. Not all since that would take some time, but I will try to touch on some fun advanced features.
First we are going to mix a couple images so open PostworkShop, and load at least 2 images. The images will both be under the Objects area, and you can move the images up or down to change the order.
The first image will be the only one you see in the Compositing area. To view the second image, you will just click the eye in the first image layer to hide it.
You will notice my second image is smaller than the canvas.
There are a few options, I can leave as is, fit the image to the canvas size, set canvas size to the image, or cover the canvas with my image my right clicking on the image layer.
I have chosen to fit it to the canvas. Next we can apply a style to the first image by highlighting it and choosing a style. I am using Drawing -> Ink -> Ink 2.
Then adjust the properties of that style to put the finishing touches.
Click on your second image, and you will see it in the Properties + Preview pane. Now we will apply a style to the second image. I usually end up experimenting with several to see the final effect. I used Photo -> Antique photo -> Antique Sepia Drawing.
Now we come to the fun part, we start to blend the two image layer. Select your first image layer and choose a blending mode like Hard Light.
Then I also reduce the Opacity of the second image to obtain the proper effect.
This example would also be a way to achieve texture on an image. By using one image that provides the texture and blending it with the other image.
Finally let's create a simple Impasto effect. Wondering what that even means? Impasto refers to the technique used in painting where paint is laid on one area or the whole canvas very thickly so the brush strokes or painting knife strokes are visible.
Start a new project and load an image into PostworkShop. Select the Style under Building Blocks -> Simple Styles -> Random Painter.
Click on the Properties + Preview pane and we are going to change the Brush by clicking browse by the Brush family.
Select the Palette Knife_02 brush and then OK.
We can fine tune the style properties to enhancing the effects of the Palette Knife. Next drop Building Blocks -> Basic Image Processing -> Emboss style after the Random Painter style.
Adjust the Emboss Properties and enjoy the result.
